Kaduna Governor Uba Sani has found himself at the receiving end of a scathing social media post from Bashir El-Rufai, son of former governor Nasir El-Rufai. Bashir appeared to take a swipe at Sani after the two exchanged greetings at a recent public event - the funeral prayers for El-Rufai's mother. His post, shared on X, read: "Lmao. Pantami the Kingmaker. One felt shame, the other indifference." It's clear that Bashir was referencing the encounter between his father and Governor Sani, which many took as a sign of the strained relationship between the two politicians.
It's no secret that El-Rufai and Sani have been at odds since the transition of power in Kaduna State. El-Rufai had been instrumental in Sani's emergence as governor, but their relationship has since deteriorated. The situation took a turn for the worse when Governor Sani strengthened ties with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a move that has reportedly strained the relationship between Tinubu and El-Rufai. The tension between the two camps has been brewing for a while, with El-Rufai taking a hardline stance against Tinubu's future political ambitions, including his potential re-election bid.
