A Devastating Video Captures Heartbreak at a Plateau Funeral
A heartbreaking moment was caught on video when a young girl, identified as Kushim, was overcome with grief during the burial of her father who lost his life in the recent Plateau attack. The tragic incident occurred on Palm Sunday when armed men stormed the Gari Ya Waye area of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North, resulting in the deaths of over 30 residents and leaving many more injured.
A Facebook user, Nkechi Nnorom Abok, shared the emotional video and described Kushim's heartbreaking reaction. According to Abok, the little girl repeatedly cried out for her father to return, her voice a poignant expression of her loss. "And we buried our dead today," Abok wrote, paying tribute to Kushim's father, a hardworking man who left behind a wife and children. "He had so much strength," Abok noted, highlighting the devastating impact of his loss on their family.
The video captures a moment of raw emotion, as Kushim clings to her father's grave, her small body shaking with sobs. Her words, "Daddy come back," are a haunting reminder of the senseless tragedy that befell her family. The Plateau State community is still reeling from the attack, and Abok's post raises poignant questions about the conflict's senseless nature and the loss of innocent lives.
