The Ogun State Police Command has since arrested the suspects, Isikilu Dauda and Rasaki Abbas, who allegedly attacked the victim with machetes on Thursday, 10th April 2026.

According to DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the security guards attacked the victim after he arrived in the area on the night of 9th April. The incident came to light after a concerned citizen tipped off the police, who promptly mobilized to the scene and rescued the victim. However, despite receiving urgent medical attention, the victim was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital.

Following a preliminary investigation, detectives discovered a trail of blood linking the scene directly to one of the suspects, leading to his arrest. Sustained efforts by the police eventually resulted in the apprehension of the second suspect. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for thorough investigation and prosecution.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has strongly condemned the act and assured that all those involved will be brought to justice. He also warned against all forms of unlawful violence and reiterated the Command's zero tolerance for extrajudicial acts.
