Tragedy struck in Bauchi State when a 9-year-old boy named Barhama Abubakar was kidnapped and eventually murdered by two of his relatives. The Bauchi State Police Command has made a breakthrough in the case, arresting Yahaya Zubairu and Babangida Muhammad, both 20 years old, for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of the young boy.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, the suspects conspired to kidnap Barhama Abubakar for ransom, demanding a whopping N1 million from his father, Mr. Abubakar Saleh. The police received a report on March 31, 2026, that the boy had gone missing on March 21, 2026, and upon investigation, the suspects were arrested, and the victim's decomposed body was recovered.
The gruesome details of the crime are heartbreaking. Habib revealed that the suspects had tied Barhama Abubakar's neck and legs, leading to his tragic death. What's even more shocking is that the suspects, who are cousins of the victim, lured him into an ambush by asking him to buy biscuits and deliver them to a primary school. They then took him to a secluded area where the heinous crime was committed.
