In a stunning turn of events, the Kebbi State Police Command has rounded up ten suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of Sufiyanu Garba and the kidnapping of his pregnant wife. The shocking incident unfolded on March 13, 2026, in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi when gunmen brutally killed Garba and abducted his wife, Zainab Mohammad.
Thankfully, Zainab has been safely reunited with her family after a daring rescue operation led by the State Intelligence Department (SID) and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). According to SP Bashir Usman, the police spokesperson, this remarkable progress was achieved through a meticulously coordinated effort, leveraging credible intelligence and technical support.
The suspects, who are now in police custody, include Zakariya Abubakar Diggi, Joseph Dahali Wanda, Sanda Alhaji, Mamman Abubakar Manu, Aisha Manu, Saudatu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammad, Betuwa Muhammad, Abdullahi Umaru, and Ja'I Garba. Preliminary investigations revealed that Zakariya Abubakar Diggi and Joseph Dahali Wanda are SIM registration agents who specialized in fraudulent SIM card registration.
