Late Night Ambush in Plateau State's Karem Village Leaves Terrorists Reeling
The Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, had a major win in their fight against terror when troops from Sector 2 successfully ambushed three suspected terrorists at Karem village in Plateau State's Wase Local Government Area. The operation took place on April 2, 2026, at around 9:00 p.m. after receiving credible intelligence that armed men on motorcycles were heading towards the community.
Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, shared the news in a statement on April 3. The statement revealed that troops also made significant arrests in another part of the state. At Dutse Uku in Jos North Local Government Area, two individuals were caught pretending to be security operatives while actively participating in the arson of residential properties.
According to Captain Oteh's statement, the operation at Dutse Uku was a crucial step towards restoring peace in the region. "At around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, troops responded to a distress call about sporadic shooting at Dutse Uku and intercepted two individuals masquerading as security operatives," the statement explained. "These impostors, dressed in tactical black uniforms, were caught in the act of arson and orchestrating violence within the community."
The arrested individuals are currently in custody, while two people who were injured in the incident were taken to a medical facility for treatment
