Breaking News: Terrorist Spy Caught in Northern Nigeria
A major breakthrough has been achieved in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria's North. On March 30, 2026, troops from the 159 Battalion, stationed in Kanama, Yobe State, as part of Operation Hadin Kai, arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP spy in a daring security operation. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Isah Mahammadu from Kafetowa village in Yunusari Local Government Area of Yobe State, was apprehended at approximately 3:15 p.m. following a tip-off from members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
According to sources, the suspect was taken into custody after troops quickly mobilized to the Kanama community, where he was found. During an initial questioning, the suspect denied any involvement with terrorist groups, claiming he was merely in the area to celebrate the Sallah festivities. However, a small bag containing a mirror, four hand bangles, a torchlight phone, and N3,500 was recovered from him, which will likely play a significant role in further investigation.
The suspect and the recovered items are currently in military custody and will be transferred to the Military high command for further investigation and action.
