On a somber note, President Tinubu made a poignant visit to Plateau state on Thursday, April 2, to pay his condolences to the government and the people affected by the devastating attack that took place on Palm Sunday, March 29. The assault on the Angwan Rukuba community in Jos left over 40 people dead, and the community is still reeling from the aftermath. During his visit, President Tinubu expressed his deepest sympathy and condemned the heinous attack in the strongest terms.
One of the most heart-wrenching moments from the visit came when the President met with Ms. Rhoda, who had been captured on video holding her severely injured son, AYuba, after the attack. The President was visibly moved by the scene, and his words of comfort to Ms. Rhoda were truly heartfelt. He acknowledged the immense pain she must be feeling and offered his prayers for her solace, saying, "I pray that this experience will not repeat itself again." He also acknowledged the pain he saw in her eyes, saying, "Favour Rhoda, I know the pain. I saw how on the video you held on to Ayuba and the pain and agony in your heart."
