Tragedy Strikes in NYC as Innocent 7-Month-Old Becomes Victim of Gun Violence
In a heart-wrenching incident that has left the community reeling, a 7-month-old baby girl named Kaori was tragically killed by a stray bullet in Brooklyn on April 1st. The little one was sitting in a stroller with her 2-year-old brother when the unthinkable happened near Humboldt and Moore Streets in East Williamsburg. Their mother, Lianna Charles-Moore, 20, explained that they thought the loud noises were fireworks, but it turned out to be gunshots fired by an individual on the back of a moped.
In a desperate bid to protect her child, Charles-Moore quickly scooped up her 2-year-old son and hugged him tightly, only to turn and find her 7-month-old daughter lying still with a bullet wound to the head. "She was just bleeding," Charles-Moore recalled, her voice filled with anguish. The mother revealed that her 2-year-old son had also been grazed by a bullet in the back and had been asking for his sister ever since the tragic incident.
