A shocking crime has rocked the music industry, with rappers Pooh Shiesty and Big30 among nine people accused of kidnapping and robbing several victims, including Gucci Mane, at a recording studio in Dallas. The incident occurred on January 10th of this year, when three music industry professionals, who had traveled from out of town for a business meeting, were allegedly ambushed by Pooh Shiesty and his co-conspirators.
According to U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Ryan Raybould, Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell D. Williams Jr., had arranged the meeting under false pretenses, supposedly to discuss the terms of his recording contract with one of the victims. However, once the three men were inside the recording studio, Williams Jr. and his co-conspirators, some of whom had traveled from Memphis, Tennessee, launched a coordinated armed takeover.
The plot allegedly involved the use of an AK-style pistol, which Williams Jr. brandished to force one of the victims to sign a release from their recording contract at gunpoint. Prosecutors claim that the group made off with Rolex watches, jewelry, cash, and other high-value items during the robbery. Rodney Wright Jr., also known as rapper Big30, is said to have played a role in blocking the door, preventing the victims from escaping.
